About Me
Hello, and welcome! My name is Patty LaVigne, and I'm an online math tutor for K-6 students. I decided to start my own tutoring business because I find it incredibly fulfilling to work with struggling students in a personalized, one-on-one setting and help them overcome their difficulties with math.

As a certified teacher in Michigan with over 30 years of experience in education, I've had the opportunity to work with students at various grade levels, from Kindergarten to high school. I've taught math to young children at a private Montessori school, homeschooled my two sons, and taught in public elementary and preschools.
​
Over the years, I've noticed that many students struggle with math because they lack a strong foundation. That's why I focus on rebuilding the missing parts of their math foundation and helping them develop a deeper understanding of the subject. I also believe that learning should be fun, so I make my lessons engaging and interactive to help students stop seeing math as a struggle.

Starting my own tutoring business has been a rewarding experience for me because I get to work with students one-on-one and see their progress over time. It brings me great joy to see the students I work with develop a love for math and gain the confidence they need to succeed!
